Sacred Spirit

Sacred Spirit - проект американца немецкого происхождения Питера Катера, написавшего музыку для семи десятков телефильмов и театральных постановок, работающего в самых разных жанрах от нью-эйдж до современного джаза, записывающегося как сольно, так и вокальными ансамблями и симфоническими оркестрами. В Sacred Spirit за основу взяты песнопения американских индейцев, смикшированные с современной перкуссией, клавишными, испанской гитарой, флейтой и джазовым фортепиано. Что касается лирики, возможны варианты - от стихов Уолта Уитмена и Сидни Ланье до легенд племени сиу. Помимо Катера, в проекте задействован аранжировщик и продюсер Крис Цундел.


В 1998 году на Virgin был выпущен «Sacred Spirit: Chants and Dances of the Native Americans», оказавшийся довольно успешным, что позволило два года спустя реализовать следующий проект, озаглавив его «Sacred Spirit, Vol. 2: More Chants and Dances of Native», записанный с вокалистами Джеки Бёрд и Нелли Буллс. В 2001 году эта пластинка была выдвинута на соискание премии Грэмми, как лучший нью-эйдж альбом.
